made in Solingen, Germany and distributed by Hilborn - Hamburger Inc. of New York. The sword comes with the portepee, bag and its matching carry case. The Model 1852 Naval Officers Sword entered service in 1852 and was in use during the American Civil War, requirements were suspended during WWII. The German made,
stainless steel, straight, single edged, fullered, triple etched, 28-inch-long acid etched blade with anchors, stars, Navy images, a mast, trident, a “USN” marked flag, an eagle, rope and a bannered “USN”.
features a star of David that reads “Proved” to the center. The reverse is marked: “Germany”, above the H-H Eagle Trademark, “Hilborn - Hamburger Inc. New York” and above “Made in Germany Solingen”. White felt buffer is still in place
