FINE 1796 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD AND SCABBARD

FINE 1796 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD AND SCABBARD. With an 80 cm straight, fullered single edged, tapering blade with partial blueing and gilt engraved decoration of a Royal Coat of Arms, military trophies, a GR cypher above a soldier in uniform and scroll 'Warranted'. With double shell guard, wire bound grip, ten sided vase shaped pommel with scrolling decoration , and slender knuckle bow. The steel scabbard with twin ring suspension. 107 cm. Condition: Nicks to the edge of the blade, scuffing and wear throughout, light rust and wear to the scabbard.
