Description
A Leibstandarte Officers' Mess meat dish in 'German Silver' with dished centre and shaped rim engraved with the 'L.A.H.' monogram. Marked 'Savhs Mettalw. Fabrik AUG Wellner Sne, 37x 23 cm. See Mollo 'Uniforms of the SS', Vol.3 p.57, fig 2, for an illustration of this monogram. These items are said to have been looted by the Russians in 1945 from the Leibstandarte's barracks at Lichterfelde in Berlin.
Condition
A nice example with some light marking to the surface.
